Winnipeg Jets win first game of 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs

The Winnipeg Jets have won their first game of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs. On Saturday, they defeated the St. Louis Blues 5-3 at the Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Mark Scheifele of Kitchener, Ontario and Kyle Connor led the Jets in scoring with three points each as they both had one goal and two assists. Defenseman Josh Morrissey of Calgary, Alberta also had a multi-point game as he had two assists. The other three Jets goal scorers were Jaret Anderson-Dolan and captain Adam Lowry of Calgary, and Alex Iafallo.

For Anderson-Dolan, this was his first goal in a Jets uniform. He had played the majority of the season with the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League, where he had seven goals and 12 assists for 19 points in 51 games. Anderson-Dolabn made his Jets debut on April 3 in a 4-0 Jets win over the Vegas Golden Knights. During the regular season, Anderson-Dolan had one assist for one point. The assist came on a goal by Connor in a 4-0 Jets win over the Dallas Stars on April 10. Prior to this season, Anderson-Dolan had 15 National Hockey League regular season goals with the Los Angeles Kings.

In Saturday’s win, the Jets were down 3-2 heading into the third period, when they scored three unanswered goals. Game two of the best out of seven series is Monday.
