Edmonton Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner of Edmonton, Alberta recorded his second National Hockey League Stanley Cup Playoff career shutout on Monday. He accomplished the feat in a 3-0 Oilers win over the Vegas Golden Knights. With the win, the Oilers take a 3-1 lead in the Western Conference semifinals.

Skinner made 23 saves overall. He made five saves in the first period, seven saves in the second period, and 11 saves in the third period. Reilly Smith of Toronto, Ontario, who scored the game-winning goal in game three, led Vegas with four shots on goal.

Adam Henrique of Brantford, Ontario led the Oilers with two goals. He was one of two Oilers players with a multi-point game. The other was Evander Kane of Vancouver, British Columbia, who had one goal and one assist for two points.

Skinner’s first NHL playoff shutout came on April 28, 2024. Skinner made 33 saves in a 1-0 Oilers win over the Los Angeles Kings in game four of the first round playoff series.

Skinner had a career high three shutouts during the 2024-25 NHL regular season. He blanked the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-0 on October 25, the Kings 1-0 on January 13, and the San Jose Sharks 3-0 on April 16. Game five of the series is Wednesday in Vegas.
