New Brunswick has won its second medal of the 2025 Canada Games in St. John’s, Newfoundland. On Wednesday, the Maritime province won a silver medal in cycling.

Molly Flynn of Fredericton placed second in the women’s road race along Marine Drive. Flynn placed behind gold medalist Abigael Fortier of Quebec City, Quebec, and ahead of Julia Snelgrove of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. New Brunswick’s other medal at the Canada Games this year came on Monday as Zachary Newman of Bathurst won bronze in the men’s 50 metre breaststroke.

Meanwhile, there is a big story happening in men’s baseball, as Canada’s smallest province, Prince Edward Island is undefeated at five wins and zero losses. On Wednesday, they beat British Columbia 3-1 in the qualification round and will play British Columbia in the semifinals again on Friday. The other semifinal has Saskatchewan versus Quebec.

Speaking of Quebec, it is Quebec that leads the medal standings with 72 medals. Three Quebec athletes have multiple gold medals as they have each placed first twice in their respective events. They are swimmer Oliver Blanchard of Pointe-Claire (men’s 400 metre and men’s 800 metre freestyle swimming), canoer Emile Bouvier of Otterburn Park (men’s C1 500m and men’s C1 1000m) and cyclist Camille Rene of St-Felix de Kingsey (women’s para road race and women’s para individual time trial cycling).
