Vegas Golden Knights right winger Mitch Marner of Markham, Ontario recorded his fourth career National Hockey League hat trick on Thursday. He accomplished the feat in a 6-3 Golden Knights win over the Calgary Flames at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada.

Marner’s first goal tied the game at one at 1:47 of the second period on an all-Canadian goal from defensemen Shea Theodore of Langley, British Columbia and Brayden McNabb of Davidson, Saskatchewan. Marner then tied the game at two at 6:42 of the second period from former Flames defenseman Rasmus Andersson and Jack Eichel. Marner’s hat trick came with one minute and 29 seconds left in the third period to close out the scoring. Mark Stone of Winnipeg, Manitoba and Ivan Barbashev had the assists.

Marner also had two assists for a five point game. Theodore also had a multi-point game as he had two assists. Marner was one of two Canadians to score for the Golden Knights. The other was Brett Howden of Calgary, Alberta.

In 2025-26, Marner has 23 goals and 53 assists for 76 points in 75 games. He is a +16 with 22 penalty minutes, 23 power-play points, one game-winning goal, one shorthanded point, 151 shots on goal, 140 faceoff wins, 44 blocked shots, 23 hits, 36 takeaways and 102 giveaways.

Marner’s game-winning goal came on March 12, 2026 in a 6-2 Golden Knights win over the Pittsburgh Penguins. Marner scored from Pavel Dorofeyev at 9:20 of the second period which put Vegas up 3-1 at the time.

All three of Marner’s prior hat tricks came with the Toronto Maple Leafs. They came in a 10-7 Maple Leafs win over the Detroit Red Wings on February 26, 2022, in a 4-3 Maple Leafs win over the Seattle Kraken on November 30, 2023, and in a 5-2 Maple Leafs win over the Red Wings on December 27, 2024. Ironically, Marner’s hat trick came on the same night that the Maple Leafs were eliminated from the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

With the win, the Golden Knights improved to a record of 34 wins, 26 regulation losses and 16 losses in extra time for 84 points. They are in third place in the Pacific Division and three points back of the Edmonton Oilers and Anaheim Ducks.
