Megan Oldham of Newmarket, Ontario has won a bronze medal for Canada in women’s slopestyle skiing on Day Three of the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan/Cortina d’Ampezzo. Canada has now won two Olympic bronze medals at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games. Canada’s other medal came in speed skating on Saturday from Valerie Maltais of La Baie, Quebec in the women’s 3000 metres.
Oldham posted a score of 76.46 points. Mathilde Gremaud of Switzerland won the gold medal with a score of 86.96 points. Ailing Eileen Gu of China won the silver medal with a score of 86.56 points. Kristy Muir of Great Britain finished in fourth place with a score of 76.05 points. It is interesting that Oldham beat Muir by the slimmest of margins–0.41 points to be exact. Gremaud beat Gu by four tenths of a point to win gold.
Oldham’s performance deserves high praise. She fell on her second run as she was trying to go big with her final jump. Oldham regrouped and delivered a fantastic third jump that was good enough to get on to the podium.
The fact that Oldham beat Muir was impressive. Muir had momentum heading into Italy, as she won the gold medal at the 2026 Winter X Games in Aspen last month.
Canada is tied for sixth in the medal standings with two. They are behind Italy (nine), Norway (six), Japan (four), Austria (three) and Germany (three).
