The Toronto Maple Leafs are in control in the Eastern Conference semifinal series with the Florida Panthers. On Wednesday night at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, the Maple Leafs defeated the Panthers 4-3 to take a two games to none lead in the best out of seven series.

The Maple Leafs were led in scoring by Max Domi of Winnipeg, Manitoba and defenseman Morgan Rielly of Vancouver, British Columbia. Domi had one goal and one assist for two points, and Rielly had two assists. Another Maple Leafs player with a multi-point game was former Montreal Canadiens captain Max Pacioretty, who had one goal and one assist for two points.

The other two Maple Leafs goal scorers were William Nylander of Calgary, Alberta, and Mitch Marner of Markham, Ontario. Marner scored the game-winning goal at 5:50 of the third period from defenseman Jake McCabe and Auston Matthews. Marner’s goal broke a 3-3 deadlock only 17 seconds after Florida initially tied the game at three.

The Maple Leafs have won the first two games of the series with two different goaltenders. Anthony Stolarz started game one but left the game, and was replaced by Joseph Woll, who has been credited with the two victories to date.
