Josh Naylor and Freddie Freeman record LCS home runs

Two Canadians recorded home runs in the 2025 Major League Baseball postseason on Thanksgiving Monday. They were Seattle Mariners first baseman Josh Naylor of Mississauga, Ontario and Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman, whose parents hailed from the Canadian province of Ontario.

Naylor hit his home run in the top of the seventh inning in a 10-3 Mariners win over the Toronto Blue Jays in game two of the American League Championship Series. It was 359 feet to right field and scored Jorge Polanco. At the time it put the Mariners up 9-3. This was Naylor’s third career postseason home run, but first home run in the postseason that came in a win for his team. With the win, the Mariners take the two games to none series lead. In the 2025 MLB playoffs, Naylor is batting .290 with one home run and two runs batted in. During seven games, 31 at bats and 32 plate appearances, he has scored four runs, and had nine hits, two doubles, two stolen bases, one walk, 14 total bases, an on base percentage of .313 and slugging percentage of .452.

Freeman hit his home run in the top of the sixth inning in a 2-1 Dodgers win over the Milwaukee Brewers in game one of the National League Championship Series. It was 362 feet to right field and put the Dodgers up 1-0. This was Freeman’s 15th postseason home run, and sixth with the Dodgers. Freeman has nine postseason home runs with the Atlanta Braves.

In the 2025 MLB playoffs, Freeman is batting .250 with one home run and one run batted in. During seven games, 28 at bats and 32 plate appearances, he has scored four runs, and had seven hits, three doubles, three walks, 13 total bases, an on base percentage of .344 and slugging percentage of .464.
