Denver Nuggets All-Star point guard Jamal Murray of Kitchener, Ontario scored 53 points on Wednesday as the Nuggets defeated the Dallas Mavericks 142-135 at the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado. This was the sixth time in Murray’s career he has reached 50 points in a single National Basketball Association game.

Murray made 19 of 28 fields goals, nine of 14 three point attempts and all six free throws. He had six defensive rebounds, four assists and was a +10.

It was Denver’s fourth straight win. Also during the streak they defeated the Toronto Raptors 121-115 on March 20, the Portland Trail Blazers 128-112 on March 22, and the Phoenix Suns 125-123 on Tuesday evening in a very exciting contest. The win over the Mavericks was even more noteworthy when you consider the fact it was on the second game of a back-to-back for the Nuggets, and the fact the Nuggets had to travel from Phoenix to Denver.

So far this season, Murray was a NBA All-Star for the first time. He is averaging 25.4 points per game, 7.1 assists per game, and 4.4 rebounds per game. Murray also has a field goal percentage of .483, three point percentage of .426, and a free throw percentage of .883.

With the win, the Nuggets improved to a record of 46 wins and 28 losses. They are fourth place in the Western Conference.
