Hay and Buttar qualify for Calgary Stampede Sunday Showdown

Dawson Hay of Wildwood, Alberta and Dakota Buttar of Eatonia, Saskatchewan have both finished in the top three in Pool C at the 2025 Calgary Stampede. Hay finished in second place in the saddle bronc and Buttar finished in second place in the bull riding.

Hay had the sixth best score on Saturday in the saddle bronc. He had a score of 83 points and won $1000. Wyatt Casper of Miami, Texas had the best score of 88 points. In the Pool C standings, Hay won an aggregate total of $13,500. Casper won the most money over the last three days in Pool C as he earned $14,000. Chase Brooks of Deer Lodge, Montana finished in third place with $12,000.

Buttar finished in second place on Saturday in the bull riding–for the day and in Pool C. Buttar’s Saturday score was 81.5 points. Wade Tuni of Rock Point, Arizona earned the most points with 87 points. Wacey Schalla of Arapaho, Oklahoma had the third most points with 65. In the aggregate standings, Buttar earned the second most money with $15,333.33. Luke Mackey of Ignacio, Colorado earned the most money with $29,500. Schalla had the third most money with $11,833.33.

The three finalists in the Rangeland Derby has been determined. They are Chanse Vigen of Calgary, Alberta. Jason Glass of High River, Alberta and Jamie Laboucane of St. Walburg, Saskatchewan.
