The Toronto Blue Jays have won game five of the 2025 World Series by a score of 6-1 over the Los Angeles Dodgers. In the process, they have now taken a three games to two lead in the best out of seven series. On Wednesday, Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. of Montreal, Quebec struck again. This time with his eighth home run of the 2025 Major League Baseball postseason. That is the second most home runs in a single postseason in MLB history. Only Randy Arozarena of the Tampa Bay Rays has more home runs as he has 10 in 2020.

Guerrero Jr. hit his eighth postseason home run of 2025 in the top of the first inning. It came in remarkable circumstances. Guerrero Jr.’s dinger was on the second pitch in the entire game. It was a 394 foot shot to left field at Dodger Stadium which put the Blue Jays up 2-0 off of Dodgers starting pitcher Blake Snell. It was the second of back-to-back home runs. On the pitch by Snell right before, he gave up a home run to Blue Jays outfielder Davis Schneider. It was quite possibly the most perfect start the Blue Jays could ever have imagined. Game six is back in Toronto Friday night.
