Eric Comrie records fourth NHL shutout

Winnipeg Jets goaltender Eric Comrie of Edmonton, Alberta recorded his fourth career National Hockey League shutout on Thursday. He accomplished the feat in a 4-0 Jets win over the Vegas Golden Knights.

Comrie made 26 saves. He had five saves in the first period, seven saves in the second period and 14 saves in the third period. Jack Eichel, who was the March First Star of the Month, led the Golden Knights in shots on goal with four.

Offensively, four Canadians scored for the Jets. They were captain Adam Lowry of Calgary, Alberta, Mark Scheifele of Kingston. Ontario, Cole Perfetti of Whitby, Ontario, and defenseman Colin Miller of Sault. Ste. Marie, Ontario.

For the season, Comrie has a record of nine wins, nine regulation losses, and one loss in extra time. He has a goals against average of 2.36 and a save percentage of .914.

Comrie’s first NHL shutout came on April 27, 2022 in a 4-0 Jets win over the Philadelphia Flyers. Comrie’s second NHL shutout came on March 25, 2023 in a 2-0 Buffalo Sabres win over the New York Islanders. Comrie’s third NHL shutout came on February 4 in  3-0 Jets win over the Carolina Hurricanes.

With the win, the Jets improved to a record of 52 wins, 20 regulation losses and four losses in extra time. They have 108 points and lead the Central Division.
