It was a sensational Tuesday for Team Canada in curling at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan/Cortina d’Ampezzo. The big story was not that Rachel Homan of Ottawa, Ontario and Brad Jacobs of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario recorded victories. It is who they beat.

Homan improved to a record of four wins and three losses after an 8-6 win over Sweden’s Anna Hasselborg, the gold medalist from the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang, and a team that was undefeated at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games prior to their loss to Homan on Tuesday. Jacobs improved to a record of six wins and one loss after beating Great Britain’s Bruce Mouat 9-5. Mouat has won two gold medals at the World Men’s Curling Championships. Both gold medals came in Canada. The first came at the 2023 World Men’s Curling Championships in Ottawa, Ontario, and the second came at the 2025 World Men’s Curling Championships in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.

The Canadian women have now won three straight games after losing three straight games. They improve to a record of four wins and three losses and are in a fourth place tie with South Korea. The Canadian men are at six wins and one loss, and are all alone in second place. On Wednesday, Jacobs and Homan both play the host Italians. Jacobs is on the ice at 6 am MT and Homan is on the ice at 11 am MT.
