Canada wins silver in men’s hockey at the 2026 Olympics

Team Canada has won the silver medal in men’s hockey at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan/Cortina d’Ampezzo. On Sunday, Canada played the gold medal game but lost to the United States by a score of 2-1 in overtime. Finland won the bronze medal.

This was Canada’s 21st medal of the 2026 Olympic Winter Games. As a nation, Canada won five gold medals, seven silver medals and nine bronze medals. Canada finished in eighth place in the overall medal standings.

The Canadian Olympic silver medalists in men’s hockey were Florida Panthers  centre Sam Reinhart of West Vancouver, British Columbia, Colorado Avalanche centre Nathan MacKinnon of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Edmonton Oilers centre Connor McDavid of Richmond Hill, Ontario, Pittsburgh Penguins centre Sidney Crosby of Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, Colorado Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar of Calgary, Alberta, San Jose Sharks centre Macklin Celebrini of North Vancouver, British Columbia, Tampa Bay Lightning left winger Brandon Hagel of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, New York Islanders centre Bo Horvat of London, Ontario, Florida Panthers left winger Brad Marchand of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Vegas Golden Knights right winger Mitch Marner of Markham, Ontario, Golden Knights right winger Mark Stone of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Montreal Canadiens centre Nick Suzuki of London, and Washington Capitals right winger Tom Wilson of Toronto, Ontario, Carolina Hurricanes right winger Seth Jarvis of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Florida Panthers centre Sam Bennett of Holland Landing, Ontario, defensemen Drew Doughty of London (Los Angeles Kings), Thomas Harley of Mississauga, Ontario (Dallas Stars), Josh Morrissey of Calgary, Alberta (Winnipeg Jets), Colton Parayko of St. Albert, Alberta (St. Louis Blues), Travis Sanheim of Elkhart, Manitoba (Philadelphia Flyers), Shea Theodore of Aldergrove, British Columbia (Golden Knights), and Devon Toews of Abbotsford, British Columbia (Avalanche),  goaltenders Jordan Binnington of Richmond Hill, Ontario (Blues), Darcy Kuemper of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan (Kings), and Logan Thompson of Calgary, Alberta (Capitals).
