Canada wins first 2 games of FIBA Women’s 3×3 World Cup

Team Canada has won its first two games of the 2025 FIBA Women’s 3×3 World Cup in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Canada defeated Latvia 17-10 and Austria 20-15 in Pool C action on Monday. The Canadian team is comprised of Kacie Bosch of Lethbridge, Alberta, Cassandra Brown of Vernon, British Columbia, Paige Crozon of Humboldt, Saskatchewan, and Saicha Grant-Allen of Hamilton, Ontario.

In Canada’s win over Latvia, Grant-Allen led Canada with nine points and eight rebounds. Brown led Canada with two key assists. In Canada’s win over Austria, Brown led Canada with nine points, and Crozon led Canada with nine rebounds. Crozon, Brown and Grant-Allen all led Canada with one key assist.

Canada is one of three nations to win their first two games so far. The other two nations are Australia and France. Canada next plays France and Hungary on Wednesday.

On the men’s side, Canada will play its first two games on Tuesday against Austria and China in Pool C action. The Canadian team is comprised of Grant Audu, Aaron Rooms, and Alex Johnson of Toronto, Ontario, and Jerome Desrosiers of St. Hyacinthe, Quebec. In Monday’s action of the 2025 FIBA Men’s 3×3 World Cup in Mongolia, the United States, Spain, the Netherlands, and Latvia won both of their first two games.
