Team Canada has won its second medal ever in the 3×3 Basketball World Cup. After winning a silver medal in Antwerp, Belgium in 2022 (Canada lost the gold medal game 16-13 to France in the women’s competition), Team Canada returned to the women’s podium on Sunday in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia . This time, Canada won the bronze medal. The Canadian bronze medalists were Kacie Bosch of Lethbridge, Alberta, Cassandra Brown of Vernon, British Columbia, Paige Crozon of Humboldt, Saskatchewan, and Saicha Grant-Allen of Hamilton, Ontario.

Canada began Sunday with a semifinal match against the Netherlands. Canada lost to the eventual gold medalists by a score of 21-15. The Netherlands would later beat Mongolia 15-9 in the gold medal game.

In the bronze medal game, Canada dominated Poland in their best game of the tournament with a 21-9 victory. Canada got off to a flawless start as they had an 11-1 lead with just under the halfway point in the contest. It was Crozon who was a dominant presence. She scored a game-high 13 points. Crozon made seven of eight one point shots, and three of five two-point shots. Crozon was also the co-leader in rebounds for Team Canada, as Crozon and Grant-Allen both had five boards. Bosch led Canada with two key assists. The bronze medal for Canada in the Women’s 3×3 Basketball World Cup will give them confidence as they prepare for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
