Team Canada has improved to a record of five wins and zero losses at the 2025 International Ice Hockey Federation World Men’s Hockey Championships. At the Avicii Arena in Stockholm, Sweden on Saturday, Canada defeated Slovakia 7-0.

It was a strong game for Canadian goaltender for Jordan Binnington of Richmond Hill, Ontario, who made 14 saves for the shutout. He made five saves in the first period, six saves in the second period, and three saves in the third period.

Offensively, Team Canada was led by Canadian Olympic gold medalist Sidney Crosby of Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia. Crosby, who won a gold medal for Canada at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver and the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, had two goals and two assists for four points. Other Canadians with a multi-point game were San Jose Sharks centre Macklin Celebrini of North Vancouver, British Columbia (one goal and two assists for three points), Colorado Avalanche centre Nathan MacKinnon of Halifax, Nova Scotia (two goals), Seattle Kraken defenseman Brandon Montour of Ohsweken, Ontario (one goal and one assist for two points), Philadelphia Flyers right winger Travis Konecny of London, Ontario (two assists), and Montreal Canadiens defenseman Mike Matheson of Pointe-Claire, Quebec (two assists).
