The men’s curling competition of the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan/Cortina d’Ampezzo is now complete and for the second time in his career, Brad Jacobs of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario is an Olympic gold medalist. On Saturday, the Canadian curling team comprised of Jacobs, third Marc Kennedy of St. Albert. Alberta, second Brett Gallant of Summerside, Prince Edward Island and lead Ben Hebert of Regina, Saskatchewan won the fourth Olympic gold medal for Canada in men’s curling in the history of the Olympic Winter Games.

In the gold medal game, Canada defeated Great Britain 9-6. The key end was the ninth, as Canada picked up three points with the hammer. Great Britain second Bobby Lammie missed both of his shots which led to Canada taking control of the game.

Jacobs’s previous Olympic gold medal in men’s curling came at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi,. It was the third straight Olympic gold for Canada, as Brad Gushue of St. John’s, Newfoundland won gold in men’s curling at the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Turin and Edmonton’s Kevin Martin won gold at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver. When Martin won gold in Vancouver, Kennedy was his second and Hebert was his lead.

Team Canada now has won 20 medals at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan/Cortina d’Ampezzo. They have five gold medals, six silver medals and nine bronze medals, and are in ninth place in the overall medal standings.
