Blue Jays tie franchise record for biggest playoff win ever

The Toronto Blue Jays have tied a franchise record for the biggest win in playoff history. They accomplished the feat on Saturday in a 10-1 win over the New York Yankees in game one of the American League Divisional Series.

The Blue Jays also beat the Texas Rangers 10-1 in game one of the 2016 American League Divisional Series. The Blue Jays won that series three games to none.

In the Blue Jays’s romp over the Yankees on Saturday, Alejandro Kirk hit two home runs and first baseman Vladimir Guerrero of Montreal, Quebec had one dinger. Just how hot has Kirk been lately? Well, he has five home runs and nine runs batted in during the last three games. Guerrero also led the Blue Jays with three hits, while Nathan Lukes, Kirk, Varsho, and Andres Gimenez all had two hits. Kirk, Varsho and Gimenez all had two runs. Lukes led the Blue Jays with three runs batted in. Meanwhile, Varsho, Gimenez and Lukes all had one double.

On the mound, Kevin Gausman got the win as he gave up one earned run in 5 2/3 innings. Meanwhile, Louis Verland and Seranthony Dominguez had holds. Game two of the best out of five series is scheduled for Sunday.
