Jet Greaves records second NHL shutout

Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Jet Greaves of Cambridge, Ontario collected his second National Hockey League shutout on Tuesday. He accomplished the feat in a 3-0 Blue Jackets win over the Philadelphia Flyers at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Greaves made 29 saves overall. He had nine saves in the first period, 12 saves in the second period, and eight saves in the third period. Flyers right winger Travis Konecny of London, Ontario led Philadelphia with six shots on goal.

Sean Monahan of Brampton, Ontario led the Blue Jackets in scoring with two assists for two points. All three Blue Jackets’s goal scorers were Canadian. They were defenseman Dante Fabbro of Coquitlam, British Columbia, Adam Fantilli of Nobleton, Ontario and Kent Johnson of Port Moody, British Columbia.

Greaves’s first NHL shutout was on Saturday in a 7-0 Blue Jackets win over the Washington Capitals. For the season, Greaves has a record of six wins, two regulation losses, and two losses in extra time, with a goals against average of 2.00 and a save percentage of .934.

With the win, the Blue Jackets kept their playoff hopes alive. They are in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs with a regulation win over the New York Islanders on Thursday and a Carolina Hurricanes regulation win over the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday.
