The Vancouver Canucks did the unthinkable on Tuesday night. Down 5-2 to the Dallas Stars, they scored three goals in the final minute and won the game 6-5 in overtime at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. It was the first time ever that a National Hockey League team was down by three goals with a minute left and won the game according to Adam Kierszenblat of Yahoo! Sports.

The Canucks goal scorer with exactly one minute left was Aatu Raty. Pius Suter then scored with 30 seconds left to pull the Canucks within one goal, and then tied the game at five with seven seconds left. Kiefer Sherwood then won the game for the Canucks with one minute and 16 seconds left in overtime.

The Stars had a 3-0 lead heading into the third period when Vancouver scored five times in a span of 19 minutes and 39 seconds. Jake DeBrusk of Edmonton, Alberta scored the Canucks first goal of the game at the 17 second mark of the third period on the power-play.

With the win, the Canucks improved to a record of 36 wins, 29 regulation losses and 13 losses in extra time. More importantly, they kept their season alive. They are six points back of the Minnesota Wild for a playoff spot.
