Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry of Surrey, British Columbia recorded his 21st career National Hockey League shutout on Tuesday. He accomplished the feat in a 5-0 Penguins win over the Chicago Blackhawks at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Jarry made 26 saves. He had seven saves in the first period, eight saves in the second period, and 11 saves in the third period.  Joe Veleno of Montreal, Quebec led the Blackhawks with four shots on goal.

Danton Heinen of Langley, British Columbia led the Penguins in scoring with two points as he had two assists. Two Canadians on the Penguins scored. They were Canadian Olympic gold medalist Sidney Crosby of Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia and defenseman Kris Letang of Montreal. Crosby, who won the gold medal for Canada at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver and the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, scored the game-winning goal to open the scoring with 16 seconds left in the first period on the power-play.

All of Jarry’s 21 NHL shutouts have been with the Penguins. In 2024-25, he has a record of 15 wins, 11 regulation losses, and six losses in extra time. Jarry has a goals against average of 3.16, save percentage of .890, and two shutouts. Jarry’s other shutout came in a 1-0 Penguins overtime win over the Ottawa Senators on March 30.
