Peel police arrest four in human trafficking investigation involving 11-to-14-year-old girls

Peel Regional Police says investigators from its vice and human trafficking unit have arrested and charged four individuals in connection with a human trafficking investigation.

Police said in

a press release

that in January 2024 the unit investigated allegations that several young female victims, aged 11 to 14 years old, were being trafficked and exploited in the sex trade throughout the Greater Toronto Area.

It is alleged that the suspects used coercion, manipulation and threats of physical violence to maintain control and influence over the victims, while financially benefiting from their exploitation.

This week police announced that four individuals, one a young offender, had been arrested and charged. The three who can be named are Mohamad Omar Al-Saleh, 21, from Toronto; Mustafa Abdo, 22, from Toronto; and Yousif Al-Gburi, 20, from Mississauga.

All three have been charged with: obtaining sexual services for consideration – person under 18 years; sexual assault – female under 16 years; and sexual interference.

In addition, a young offender, aged 15, has been charged with: procuring – person under 18 years x3; receiving benefit resulting from trafficking in persons x2; material benefit from the sexual services provided by a person under 18 years x2; exercise control, direction or influence x3; and trafficking in persons under 18 years x2. The identity of the young person is protected.
