Team Canada has won their second straight game in men’s hockey at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan/Cortina d’Ampezzo. On Friday, Canada trounced Switzerland 5-1 to improve their record to two wins and zero losses.

What we saw from Team Canada was excellence from Canada’s two top players–Nathan MacKinnon of the Colorado Avalanche, and Connor McDavid of the Edmonton Oilers. MacKinnon of Halifax, Nova Scotia, and McDavid of Richmond Hill, Ontario both had one goal and two assists for three points.

Two more Canadians had a multi-point game. They were Macklin Celebrini of the San Jose Sharks and defenseman Cale Makar of the Avalanche. Celebrini of North Vancouver, British Columbia, had one goal and one assist for two points, and Makar of Calgary, Alberta, had two assists.

The other two Canadian goal scorers were Pittsburgh Penguins centre and Canadian Olympic gold medalist Sidney Crosby of Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, and Dallas Stars defenseman Thomas Harley of Brampton, Ontario. Crosby, who won a gold medal for Canada at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, and the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, also had a breakaway, but was stopped by Swiss goalie Akira Schmid. Canada next plays France on Sunday to complete Group A action (8:40 am MT).
