Canadian Olympic gold medalist Mikael Kingsbury of Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, Quebec and Julien Viel of Quebec City, Quebec each won gold medals this past weekend at a World Cup moguls event in Val St. Come, Quebec. Kingsbury recorded the 100th World Cup moguls win of his career, and 143rd World Cup moguls medal. He has 100 World Cup gold medals, 33 World Cup silver medals, and 10 World Cup bronze medals.

Kingsbury won his World Cup gold medal in a regular moguls event on Friday. He had a score of 85.83 points. Matt Graham of Australia won the silver medal with a score of 83.5 points. Nick Page of the United States won the bronze medal with 80.96 points. Kingsbury reached the World Cup podium by 4.89 points over Dylan Walczyk of the United States, who had a fourth place score of 80.94 points.

Viel won his gold medal in dual moguls. This was his third career World Cup medal after winning bronze in Chiesa in Valmalenco, Italy on February 11, 2023, and Beidahu, China on February 22, 2025. All three World Cup medals for Viel came in dual moguls.

This was the first World Cup dual moguls event of the season. Ikuma Horishima of Japan won the silver medal and Filip Gravenfors of Sweden won the bronze medal.

In the World Cup men’s moguls standings, Kingsbury is in fourth place with 100 points. Graham leads with 230 points.

Kingsbury won his Olympic gold medal in men’s moguls at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang. The gold medals for Kingsbury and Viel will give them confidence as they prepare for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan Cortina d’Ampezzo.
