Canadian roster set for the 2025 Spengler Cup

The 2025 Spengler Cup will start on Friday in Davos, Switzerland. Team Canada has been announced. Here are the 14 forwards, eight defensemen and three goaltenders.

The 14 forwards are centre Andy Andreoff of Pickering, Ontario (Zurich SC), left winger Drake Caggiula of Pickering (Lausanne HC), right winger Graeme Clarke of Nepean, Ontario (Hershey Bears), centre Jean-Luc Foudy of Scarborough, Ontario (Iowa Wild), centre Tanner Fritz of Grande Prairie, Alberta (Switzerland’s Rapperswil-Jona), centre Derek Grant of Abbotsford, British Columbia (Zurich SC), right winger Jonathan Hazen of Val-Belair, Quebec (Switzerland’s Ajoie HC), centre Tyler Morley of Burnaby, British Columbia (Switzerland’s Kloten HC), centre Matthew Peca of Petawawa, Ontario (Springfield Thunderbirds), centre Anthony Richard of Trois-Rivieres, Quebec (Lehigh Valley Phantoms), centre Nate Schnarr of Waterloo, Ontario (Cologne Sharks), centre Michael Sgarbossa of Campbellville, Ontario (Lugano), left winger Brett Seney of London, Ontario (Rockford IceHogs), and Mason Shaw of Wainwright, Alberta (Manitoba Moose).

The eight defensemen are Calen Addison of Brandon, Manitoba (Utica Comets), Nolan Allan of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan (IceHogs), Trent Bourque of Burlington, Ontario (Finland’s JyP HT Jyvaskyla), Nikolas Brouillard of St. Hilaire, Quebec (San Diego Gulls), Gabriel Chicoine of Saint-Dominique, Quebec (Slovakia’s Zilina Wolves),  Jesse Graham of Oshawa, Ontario (Slovakia’s MHC), Joe Hicketts of Kamloops, British Columbia (Ontario Reign), and Jake Livingstone of Creston, British Columbia (Charlotte Checkers).

The three goaltenders are Taylor Gauthier of Calgary, Alberta (Wheeling Nailers), Connor Hughes of London, Ontario (Lausanne) and James Reimer of Morweena, Manitoba (15 years of NHL experience). Canada will play the United States in its first game on Friday at 12:15 pm MT.
