3 Canadians record TDs on winning teams in CFL’s Week 19

Week 19 is now complete in the Canadian Football League regular season, and three Canadians found the end zone on winning teams. They are Saskatchewan Roughriders wide receiver Tommy Nield of Guelph, Ontario, Calgary Stampeders running back Ludovick Choquette of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, and Montreal Alouettes defensive back Marc-Antoine Dequoy of Montreal, Quebec.

Nield had a 13-yard touchdown catch from Trevor Harris on Friday in a 27-19 Roughriders win over the Toronto Argonauts. The touchdown came with six minutes and 41 seconds left in the third quarter and put Saskatchewan up 21-13. With the win, the Roughriders clinched first place in the West Division with a record of 12 wins and four losses. In the game, Nield had three catches for 39 receiving yards. On the season, Nield has 31 catches for 429 receiving yards and five touchdown catches.

Choquette had a 44-yard touchdown run on Saturday in a 37-20 Stampeders win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. The touchdown came with one minute and 19 seconds left in the first half. Choquette had seven rushes for 73 rushing yards. In 2025, he has 33 rushes for 214 rushing yards and one touchdown, and three catches for five yards. With the win, the Stampeders improved to a record of nine wins and seven losses and are in a second place tie with the British Columbia Lions in the West Division.

Dequoy had a 20 yard blocked punt return for a touchdown on Monday in a 30-10 Alouettes win over the Ottawa Redblacks on Monday. The touchdown put the Alouettes up 8-0 and came four minutes and eight seconds into the game. Dequoy also had three solo tackles and one sack in the game. With the win, the Alouettes improved to a record of nine wins and seven losses and are in second place in the East Division.
