Quebec City, Quebec is set to host two prestigious international hockey tournaments in the next four years. According to Hockey Canada on Thursday, the capital city of the province of Quebec will host the 2027 International Ice Hockey Federation Women’s World Hockey Championship and the 2029 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Men’s Hockey Championship. Both tournaments will take place at the Videotron Centre. At the 2029 World Juniors, Trois-Rivieres, Quebec will also host Group B games.

This will be the 10th time Canada is hosting the Women’s World Hockey Championship. This will be the first time the tournament is in the province of Quebec.

Canada has hosted the World Junior Men’s Hockey Championship on 19 prior occasions. Quebec has been the host on three occasions. Games were in Montreal, Quebec City, Chicoutimi, and Hull in 1977, and in Montreal in 2015 and 2017.

It has not yet been determined where or when the 2026 IIHF Women’s World Hockey Championship will be. Women’s hockey will take place at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan/Cortina d’Ampezzo, and as a result the Professional Women’s Hockey League are stopping their season. The IIHF was planning to have the Women’s World Hockey Championship some time in April, but the PWHL are not very receptive to stopping their season twice in three months for an extended period of time.
