New Brunswick wins third medal at 2025 Canada Games

The first week of the 2025 Canada Games is now complete and New Brunswick won its third medal. on Saturday This was the second medal of the week for New Brunswick cyclist Molly Flynn of Fredericton. Flynn won the bronze medal in the Women’s Criterium (a 39 kilometre road race in downtown St. John’s, Newfoundland). Kimberly Chen of Victoria, British Columbia won the gold medal and Elly Moore of Collingwood, Ontario won the silver medal.

In men’s baseball, British Columbia won the gold medal after beating Quebec 3-2 in the gold medal game. Outfielder Oscar Leah of Maple Ridge, British Columbia hit a dramatic home run in the bottom of the fourth inning to break a 2-2 deadlock.

In men’s basketball, Alberta beat Ontario 72-69 in the gold medal game. In women’s basketball, Alberta also won gold as they beat Ontario 62-54. Deng Ngor of Calgary led Alberta in the men’s final with 22 points, and Pippa Gibb of Raymond led Alberta in the women’s final with 13 points.

In men’s beach volleyball, British Columbia beat Quebec 21-18, 21-16 in the gold medal game. British Columbia was comprised of Piers de Greeff of Victoria and Noam Miller Snitz of Vancouver. In women’s beach volleyball, Ontario beat Quebec 21-13, 21-12 in the gold medal contest. Ontario was comprised of Ofure Odigi of Brampton and EJ Cudmore of Barrie.

Quebec continues to lead the medal standings with 103 medals (35 gold, 33 silver and 35 bronze). Ontario is second with 102 medals.
