Canadian Olympic gold medalist Andre de Grasse of Scarborough, Ontario won the bronze medal in the men’s 200 metres at the 2025 Bislett Games in Oslo, Norway on Thursday. It was de Grasse’s first medal in a Diamond League event this season.

De Grasse had a third place time of 20.33 seconds. Reynier Mena of Cuba won the gold medal with a time of 20.20 seconds. Timothe Mumenthaler of Switzerland won the silver medal with a time of 20.27 seconds. De Grasse reached the podium by 0.11 seconds. Joseph Fahnbulleh of Liberia finished in fourth place with a time of 20.44 seconds.

De Grasse’s personal best time in the men’s 200 metres was 19.62 seconds. He accomplished the feat when he won Olympic Gold in the men’s 200 metres at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2021. It was one of two Olympic gold medals De Grasse has won in his high performance track and field career. The other came in the men’s 4×100 metre relay at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. De Grasse won alongside Aaron Brown of Toronto, Ontario, Jerome Blake of Kelowna, British Columbia, and Brendon Rodney of Etobicoke, Ontario.

Brown will be competing in a Diamond League men’s 200 metre race in Stockholm on Sunday. The bronze medal in Oslo will give De Grasse confidence as he prepares for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
