The Edmonton Oilers are in the second round of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs. On Thursday night at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, the Oilers defeated the Los Angeles Kings 6-4, and won the best out of seven series four games to two.

Connor Brown of Toronto, Ontario led the Oilers in scoring with three points as he had one goal and two assists. Brown was also strong defensively as he was a +3. Four more Oilers had multi-point games. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins of Burnaby, British Columbia, Zach Hyman of Toronto, Darnell Nurse of Hamilton, Ontario and Trent Frederic all had one goal and one assist for two points. The other Oilers goal scorer was Adam Henrique of Brantford, Ontario.

This series was also about resilience and perseverance. The Oilers got off to a poor start to the series defensively. This team is clearly missing defenseman Mattias Ekholm, who is doubtful for round two against the Vegas Golden Knights. But they got exceptional goaltending for Calvin Pickard of Moncton, New Brunswick, who won four straight games, and was fantastic in the second period of game six.

We cannot forget to talk about the play of Oilers captain Connor McDavid of Richmond Hill, Ontario. He led all players in the series in scoring in assists (nine) and points (11).
